One Week

One week until I get to see Troy again. He left last night (after over 2 hours of delays) for Toronto where he will be (one of many teachers) marking the Ontario Gr. 10 Literacy test (don't get me started on standardized testing.....). It's been less then 24 hours and Alexandra has already asked, at least 50 times, when Daddy is going to be home and can she see Daddy. I think it might be a long week.
I will need extra patience this week. But I have lots of little things planned to keep the kids busy and their minds off the fact that Daddy isn't here.
There will be egg decorating, making bee laterns, storytime at the library, egg hunts on the weekend. And maybe a movie night or two.
There will also be playing in the snow and puddles and getting muddy and dirty and wet.

I'm sure there will be fits and screams and early mornings and late nights.
But there will also be extra snuggles and laughter and adventures that we normally wouldn't go on. Because after all, what better way is there to pass the time until next Wednesday morning when Daddy will be there to get the kids in the morning?
There will be the Easter service to go to, deer to feed and squirrels to chase out of our shed (yay!)
These random pictures are from yesterday, playing outside after rest time. Washing (lets use that term loosely) the van and splahing in puddles and throwing the snow at windows (till I became the 'mean' mommy and suggested they aim at the brick instead!)
Owen just liked the dirt!

God's grace is more than enough for this week. And as long as I keep that in perspective, we will have TONS for fun and there will be more laughter than tears. Sometimes, alone is easier because there is no expectation of help. And when there isn't that expectation, I lean on God a lot more often and stronger than when that expectation is there. I know this week will hold it's challenges, but we started off on a good note. . .the kids ALL slept in until 7:30 (rare in this house!) and I was up before them.

Enjoy your week! I hope it goes well. You'll have to fill me in on what bee lanterns are, I am intrigued. :)
We just got another 1 1/2 feet of snow. You know its bad when your child tells you spring is done and its back to winter, LOL!

So, so, so true!! Loved the pictures ... and that part I copied because that is what life is all about ... relying on GOD!

Praying your {week} is full of GREAT things!!

Praying for you. I'm kind of a baby when it comes to parenting by myself... :) I'm kind of sheepish about this, but it's true. :)

I also LOVE the paragraph that Lindsay copied. Expectations always get me in trouble... :)

They are really making him be away for Easter?? You would think they would plan that a little better... well actually maybe it makes a lot of sense! Hope you have a good week. I'll call you in a day or two.
(miss ya tons - only 2 1/2 months to go)
