time

packing
cleaning
organizing
making lists
crossing things off lists
going on day 3 (or has it been closer to 5?) of gray, cold, rainy weather
it's consuming.
we leave on Saturday for Toronto for 3ish weeks.
and I am scattered, and grumpy, and impatient at everything and everyone.
seems like there are a million and one things to do and not nearly close to enough time to do it all.
there's a Canada Day party tomorrow, a wedding on Saturday and countless little things that *HAVE* to happen before we go.
But there are the little things too, the things that get lost in the shuffle.
bedtime stories
snuggles
wrestling and monster tag
dancing and silly tickle fights.
too much stuff, too much stress, too many thoughts and worries.
time needs to slow down
unfortunately i have not mastered that little trick yet...if you do, let me know!
Be STILL.
but if i stop _______________ wont happen
Be STILL.
but there is so much to do.
Be STILL.
you'd think i'd listen.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
might be a while before I'm blogging again. hoping to be able to post pics from the Canada Day party before we leave, but seriously? it's low on the list of things to get done, will try (you know, provided this rain stops and we can actually go and hang out with friends and eat and watch the kids run around with sparklers!) but no promises!

Last Soccer Game

Anthony had his last soccer game Wednesday night. He was SO very tired, but still managed to play really well. It didn't help that Wednesday was close to the hottest day we have had thus far!
Here are some of the pictures from the night. They even gave the kids medals, which Anthony slept with around his neck last night, he wanted to wear it to school but I told him it would be safer at home (he has this habit of pulling things out of his backpack on the school bus and I was worried he would lose it)
William and Zander were on the same team.

i heart faces

This week, the theme is 'Let's hear it for the boys'. (No girls allowed!)
Technically there is supposed to be a face in the picture, but I took this on the weekend and it screams *boys* at me. So I am entering it, despite the fact that you can't actually see their faces :)
Head on over to i heart faces to join in on the fun or see even more GREAT pictures.

what more could we possibly want?

(more pictures to come, it was a full day and we are all sunkissed, happy and tired!)

Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there! Hope your day was filled with laughter and love.

Enough

My focus has been off, and as a result, my priorities have shifted.
If only I could remember to keep my eyes on what REALLY matters. I am so very thankful for one of my friends this week. She totally reminded me that
we don't have to have it all together.
We just have to remember that His grace is enough.
That God will forgive me when I fall (over and over and over),
that His grace is
ALL
I need to make it through the day.

Big Boy

You, my monkey son, keep me busy.

Between crawling super fast everywhere, to exploring your brother's toys, You some how find the time to climb and bounce and playing with the answering machine.

(That bright red light keeps cathing your attention and you will do anything to try and reach it!)

Your laughter when you get caught just shows off your personality all the more.

And then you try to decide if you should go over head first, or feet first.

You've done both, and seem to enjoy each! Sleepy boys go to bed. Thankfully you have yet to discover that you can climb out of the crib that confins you for sleep.

I dread that day my sweet boy!

Blessing Filled Weekend

Saturday was a day filled with this.... So we had this, for dinner, it's the best rainy day food there is!

It was yummy, and it has been far too long since I have made my family pizza!

Sunday, I spent much of the day (17 hours) in bed. I was SO not feeling well, and SO thankful that Troy was home to do everything! I did however, manage to drag myself out of bed long enough to take some pictures and enjoy a little of the WONDERFUL weather that graced us on Sunday. It was beautiful. (And today is more of the same!)

So out came the sprinkler for the first time this year.

May your week be filled with lazy moments and sunny skies!

i heart faces - week 23

This week, the theme is sepia toned photos over at i heart faces. Feel free to join in the fun, just head on over to their site to check out more pictures.

I took this picture of my daughter, this afternoon in our backyard.

It has FINALLY been warm enough here to pull the sprinkler out. If only I knew what she was thinking when I took it!

Brothers

You, sweet boy of mine, drive me crazy.

There are days when I am SURE your main goal in life is to see how close you can push me to the edge without actually sending me over, days when I am ready to string you up by your toes.

BUT....

Then there are days like this... And my heart swells with pride at the big brother you are, at your compassion and care for others.

Moments like this truly do make the rest of it worthwhile.
I love seeing the adoration in Owen's eyes as he looks up at his big brother.
This is a bond the two of you will have forever, treasure it my sweet boys.
