Alright, I realize I live in Northern Ontario but still..... It is the middle of June and The kids and I are bundled up for winter! I was outside today putting clothes on the clothesline and I was wearing my heavy fleece jacket and was still chilly. On a side note, the rain held off until I could bring the clothes in AND, I did get an almost two hour nap today!
There are pictures to post of my mom's visit, we went to Benny Birtches Birthday Party at Chippewa Park (because Old Fort Wiliam was closed due to flooding which is where we were originally headed) but they will come when I have a chance to get them onto the computer. Owen is a little cranky after the other two go to bed so life is a little crazy then and while, I nap when they do!
Hopefully the rain and cold weather disappear soon and it will start to feel like summer out!

First Dentist Visit
Anthony had his first dentist appointment today, he did SO well. He was a little nervous going in, clinging to my leg and hiding, but once he got in the chair and it started to move up and down, he was hooked! He laid SO still and kept his mouth open the whole time, it was great!!! The dentist counted his teeth and checked the spacing and all that. No actual cleaning this time, they don't want to tramatize them on the first visit!! He was so good that he got to choose TWO toys from the treasure chest (two parachute alien guys!) and he got a sticker AND a tattoo. He was SUPER excited, I think that was the best part of the visit for him lol!

What a Week
This past week has been good. We are slowly starting to get into a routine and Anthony and Alexandra are still managing to get some mom time as Owen is good at sleeping (even when the noise level reaches that of a jet engine!). I am feeling human again, thankfully. Largely in part to the sleepign habits of little boys and also because my face has been showing HUGE signs of improvement. It is far from perfect but I no longer feel like things aren't right (which makes me much less aware of it) and my eye is no lonrger 'bugging' which means that I don't feel tired all the time. I am so thankful that the Bell's Palsy is healing faster than I thought possible, and even if , for some reason, it doesn't get any better than this, I would be o.k with that.
This past week we have had wonderful families/ladies from our church stopping by with dinner for us every night. We have been SO incredibly spoiled. All the meals have been delicious and my kids have even eaten bits and pieces of them all (which is a HUGE accomplishment in a of itself! Anthony exclaimed that the homemade pizza we had Friday night was "THE BEST EVER!") Having the meals has beena huge relief as it means that after trying to corral three kids all day I don't have to think about what to cook for dinner when I am tired and exhausted and about ready to lose it! A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who has provided us with food over the last little while. It means a lot to us.
My mom comes in tomorrow night and is staying for a week. I am SO very excited to see her. The kids are looking forward to it as well. Anthony is hoping that Grandma will take him swimming and push him on the swing.
It was so cute this morning, I had the phone in the backyard and Alexandra kept coming over to it, picking it up to talk and saying "hi granma" so we called my mom so the kids could talk!!
Troy's mom is leaving for Scottland on Wednesday for 3 months. She is going to visit her daughter and her family who live over there. It will be her first time on a plane! She is looking forward to going. It will definately be different for our kids to not have her around, they have seen a lot of her lately, and they have enjoyed it. We are all hoping tha tshe has a great time (and that the plane ride from Thunder Bay to Toronto goes well so she will actually get on the plane from Toronto to Scottland......she's just a little clausterphobic!)
I will have some more pictures to post soon! Owen is growing like a weed, he was 7lbs 15oz on Thursday (he gained 10oz in 5 days!). Tomorrow is our next midwife appointment so we will see how big he has gotten since Thursday!

Pictures of Owen Caleb
What a whirlwind past couple of days! Owen's arrival was definately a little stressful but everything is going well. We left for the hospital Monday morning to be induced, they started the induction at 8:30am and by 1:54pm Owen Caleb 'fell out' screaming (literally!). It seemed to Troy and I that it took FOREVER to get to 5cm and it did....(at least compared to what I'm used to!) However, once I got to 5cm dilation, it took about 9mins to go from 5 to having Owen. I barely made it back into the bed and was on my knees leaning into the head of the bed and out he fell. I wasn't sure if the midwife was even there, I remember saying, "he's here, his head is here you need to get him!" (with just a little bit of panic in my voice!) and out he cameplop, right into her hands and that was that! I wouldn't recommend going that quickly....it was just a little bit intense!
He is a good baby, though he definately gave me a run for my money the first night (I think it was the tramatic birth!) he was awake basically from 10pm to 6am. The nurse took pity on me at about 4:30 and took him for an hour so I could sleep!
Here are some pictuers of the kids with their brother. They LOVE him and can't get enough of him. Alexandra gets very worried when he cries, although I remember Anthony doing the same thing when Alexandra first came home too.

Induction Day
Well, I am off to have a baby this morning. Went to e.r yesterday cuz the right side of my face doesn't move (it looks really funny!) and I was thinking stroke.
Turns out it's Bell's Palsy, which is an inflammed facial nerve. It IS a reversible condition, but they want to start me on Pretezone (a steroid) but being this close to my due date, they don't want to start it while baby is still inside (there could be complications to baby if he is born with it in his system) so, they are inducing me in an hour (7:45am) so that I can start the medication (which is recommended that you start within 72 hours of onset).
The next post will hopefully be baby pictures :) But probably not till I come home from the hospital i a day or two.
Anyway, off to eat and dress and head to the hospital!

She Can Do WHAT??!!!
I had a home visit today with my midwife so I sent my kids downstairs to play in Anthony's room so I could try to have adult conversation without being inturrupted by munchkins. ANYWAY, I came downstairs to find Anthony playing (somewhat) happily in his room and Alexandra, sitting on her little pullout couch in front of the t.v watching the menu screen to one of her Dora DVDs. Um.....when did she learn to work the t.v and DVD player? Seriously, she's not even 21 months old yet..... (and no, Anthony didn't do it for her as he spent the time running up and down the stairs and jumping on his bed)
Not ONLY did she turn on the t.v (which I know she can do), she turned on the DVD player, pulled OUT the Cars DVD, put IN the Dora cd (right side up and everything!)and pulled the little pullout couch over to a foot away from the t.v. I found her sitting there with her blankie saying "do do Dora" with this sad look on her face. She couldn't figure out why it wasn't playing for her (it played until it got to the episode selection screen!)
I would have taken a picture had I thought to run back upstairs and get the camera, but at this point in pregnancy, it was more trouble then it was worth (I don't 'run' anywhere anymore....more like a slow waddle!)

Ultrasound
Well, baby is growing like he should be. His head circumfrence and femur were measuring between 38 and 38.3 weeks so exaactly where he is supposed to be at this point. They are estimating that he weighs about 3.3kg (7 something lbs) but I don't have much faith in the guesstimating system (as they tend to guess my babies are bigger than they are!). Fluid is fine and blood flow is fine. Basically, they can't figure out why I'm not getting bigger but I don't care!! All that matters is baby is healthy and growing like he should and he is so we are happy!
It was great to see his chubby little cheeks on the 4-D real time part. He had his little fist shoved up against his mouth, it was really cute! I am getting super excited to meet him!
So everything is good! :)

Funny Story (at least it made me laugh)
SO...... We had a little bit of a 'scare' yesterday. We couldn't find Troy's set of keys. As of Sunday, I had both of them and apparently didn't put his set back on the hanger by the front door so Troy too mine to school (he needed the car leys). He gets home from school and asks if I've checked the mail.....hello, I didn't have keys. He looked EVERYWHERE for them, decided that he should call his friend Tom to see if maybe he had left them there on Sunday when he was helping tear down cement. Nope, not there. I even called the hospital to see if they had fallen out of my purse when I was there Sun afternoon (nope not there either).
I suggest looking in the van, just in case I had both sets in my purse and one happened to fall out when I set my purse down. So Troy goes out to look comes back inside and really starts getting worried cuz they weren't in the van.
After every option has been exhausted in the search, I go out to the van again and what do I find sitting in PLAIN SIGHT on the passenger side front seat? The keys. I nearly peed I was laughing so hard. I had to call Troy outside to show him where they were. How on earth could you miss that??????!!!!!!! That was my funny moment (probably for the week) I have not laughed so hard in a really really really long time (lack of sleep and hormones could have something to do with the fact that it was close to 10 minutes before I stopped laughing but it WAS really funny!!)

Pregnancy Hormones SUCK!
I'm tryingto enjoy this pregnancy as it is our last, but seriously...I'm SO done. Maybe the will induce me at 37 weeks and then I can have my body back, and my hormones will be normal (or at least normal for me). I'm tired of being tired and of having zero patience with the kids. I'm tired of not being able to sleep because I can't get comfortable or have insomnia.....
Anyway, enough complaining. I am looking forward to holding our little guy and cuddling him and taking a few dyas (or 60 hours to be exact) in the hospital to get to know him apart from my other kids. The days are passing and even though they don't seem to be passing fast enough, I am happy that they are passing.
Today my job is to pull out the rest of the baby clothes and the infant carseat and to attempt to get all the washing done and put away his clothes on the shelf he is over taking in Alexandra's room (at least until we can get Alexandra out of her crib and into the room in the basement which will be hers eventually!)
Well, the sun is shining and it is supposed to be a nice day, so enjoy it as spring is approaching, if not fully here yet.
Anyway, enough complaining. Four weeks and counting
till Baby Setala arrives......
Hopefully we will have a name by then, I'm VERY serious when I ask for suggestions.......maybe we'll have a contest, if you can suggest a useable name (i.e. Setala Son is NOT considered useable.....however cute it seems) and we end up naming our son that, you will get a praize, maybe a giant choclolate bar or a gift certificate to a coffee shop....
Yesterday was spent washing baby clothes seeing as it was raining and I couldn't dry things on the line, I decided that I was going to wash baby clothes! I also got the bassinette set up and the diapers put on the shelf that will be their home (out of little girl's reach!). We are slowly getting ready and I am really starting to get excited.
Alexandra is still potty training herself. She randomly goes into the bathroom and takes off her diaper and pants and sits on the potty. Sometimes she goes, sometimes she doesn't but there is a definate interest there. I am not really encouraging it but I have finally stopped fighting the fact that she is ready to start! Now, usually, when she tells me she needs to go I send her on her way and then go help. I figure that I probably shouldn't discourage it because then when I AM ready to start, she will want nothing to do with it!! So potty training here we come!
The winterish weather seems to have comeback today, we've had rain for the past 3 days and I have been kicking myself for not getting out to put down some grass seed, so I went out this morning to sprinkle some and what does it start to do? The rain turns to sleet and snow...... perfect for grass seed to grow :P Ah well, if it doesn't take it doesn't take and I'll just re-seed it later.
